Russia claims drone attacks hit three cargo ships bound for Ukrainian Black Sea ports

Russia's Defence Ministry said drones struck three vessels carrying military supplies to Odesa and Mykolaiv, and hit a logistics centre in the Mykolaiv region.

On Monday, Russian forces reportedly used drones to target multiple sites in Ukraine, including three cargo ships alleged to be transporting military cargo to the Black Sea ports of Odesa and Mykolaiv. The ministry also said a logistics hub in the Mykolaiv region was hit. The claims have not been independently verified. The strikes are presented as part of Russia's ongoing campaign against Ukrainian supply lines.

Why it matters

The strikes illustrate Russia's effort to block military supplies reaching Ukraine by sea.
