Russia places London anti-war activist Ksenia Maksimova on international wanted list

Russia's Federal Security Service has launched a criminal investigation into Ksenia Maksimova, accusing her of participating in terrorist activities through her role with the Anti-War Committee of Russia. The agency placed her on both an international and a federal wanted list, labeling her as a terrorist and extremist. Maksimova, a former top-50 model, co-founded the Russian Democratic Society in London in 2022 and has served as the committee's consul in the U.K. since 2024.

She was elected a councilor for the London Borough of Ealing in May 2026. In August, she wrote to a London venue to block a concert by Instasamka, claiming the singer appeared in Ukraine's Myrotvorets database for allegedly sending money to Russian forces, leading the club to cancel the event. The FSB alleges she raised funds and provided aid to Ukraine through her organization.
