Russia says it will now hit any target in Ukraine after Kyiv's strikes
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced that Russia has shifted to indiscriminate attacks across Ukraine in retaliation for Ukrainian strikes on Russian economic sites.
Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said Russia is now striking "everything and anything" in Ukraine as a direct response to Kyiv’s intensified attacks on Russian economic and strategic targets. He noted that this marks a departure from earlier restraint, aligning with President Vladimir Putin’s earlier claim that Ukraine had "opened Pandora's box" by targeting Russian assets. Over the past weeks, Russia has dramatically increased the deployment of jet-powered attack drones, bombarding Kyiv and other regions almost continuously.
The latest overnight drone raid reached Volyn Oblast near the Yahodyn-Dorohusk crossing, damaging a gas station and a passenger train locomotive bound for Warsaw. Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko warned that the city lacks resources to protect every gas station and is short of anti-drone weapons. Russia has previously used drone strikes on fuel stations to disrupt logistics in Kharkiv, Sumy, Zaporizhzhia and other areas.
