Russian air strike hits Sloviansk residential block, injuring at least seven
Russian aircraft bombed a residential area in Sloviansk, Donetsk Oblast, wounding at least seven people.
At approximately 10:00 Kyiv time on Oct. 11, Russian aircraft released three FAB-250 bombs onto a residential district of Sloviansk in Donetsk Oblast, destroying the entrance hall of a five-storey apartment building. Mayor Vadym Lyakh announced on Facebook that seven residents were injured, three requiring hospital care, and that another individual was wounded by separate shelling in a different neighbourhood. President Volodymyr Zelensky echoed the mayor’s account in a Telegram post, noting the possibility of people trapped under the rubble and emphasizing that such strikes are occurring continuously.
He added that during one outlet week Russian forces have deployed about 1,450 aerial bombs, 75 missiles of various types and more than 1,640 attack drones, roughly 60 % of which are jet-powered. Lyakh urged citizens to stay safe and remain resilient. The incident underscores the intensity of the ongoing aerial campaign in eastern Ukraine.
