Russian attacks trigger power outages and civilian casualties across multiple Ukrainian regions

Russian strikes on energy infrastructure caused electricity cuts in six Ukrainian oblasts and killed a woman in Sloviansk, while Ukraine reported numerous drone interceptions.

Ukrenergo reported electricity interruptions in the oblasts of Dnipropetrovsk, Donetsk, Kharkiv, Sumy, Chernihiv and Zaporizhzhia following Russian attacks on civilian power facilities, and said repair crews are working where safety permits. In Sloviansk, a Russian air strike demolished a residence, killing a woman and igniting a second house and three cars. Rescue teams in Kramatorsk saved a woman from a burning nine-storey building, though operations were halted due to the threat of further strikes.

Ukrainian air defenses neutralised 112 of 140 Russian drones and all three cruise missiles launched overnight, while Russia reported intercepting 290 Ukrainian drones over its own regions. Additional casualties were reported in Voronezh, where two people died and 17 were injured after drone debris struck a train and other sites.
