Russian Drone Hits Western Ukrainian Gas Station Near Polish Border

A group traveling with the veteran-focused organization With Honor paused at a gas station in Yahodyn, Ukraine, after a trip to the front lines in Kharkiv. Founder Rye Barcott noted local teenagers gathering, while MP Oleksandra Ustinova warned they could soon face conscription at age 25. Ten minutes after the delegation resumed its journey toward the Polish border, air-raid warnings appeared and a Russian drone struck the very station they had just left.

A second drone hit a train a few miles away, barely missing former CIA director David Petraeus, former British prime minister Boris Johnson and former Swedish prime minister Carl Bildt. Fortunately, no one was injured. The attack, occurring far from the main battle zones, was interpreted by the author as evidence that Russia’s ability to project force is expanding, challenging the perception that it has held the advantage throughout the war.
