Russian drone strike hits Kyiv university building and outskirts infrastructure
A Russian drone attack late on Sept. 16 damaged a university building in Kyiv’s Holosiivskyi district and caused fires and damage to utilities and property in Brovary and Fastivskyi districts of Kyiv Oblast.
Late on Sept. 16, a Russian drone strike struck a higher-education facility in Kyiv’s Holosiivskyi district, damaging its façade and windows and igniting a minor fire that was put out by emergency crews. The State Emergency Service confirmed the damage. The same night, the Kyiv Oblast Military Administration said the Brovary district, located east of the capital, saw a utility building, agricultural machinery, semi-trailers and a car hit, with a fire breaking out at a private property.
Further damage to homes and commercial premises was reported in the Fastivskyi district. These incidents come after a morning attack on Sept. 15 that killed one person and injured at least a dozen, including a fatality at a gas station in the Darnytskyi district, according to Mayor Vitali Klitschko. The series of strikes underscores Russia’s ongoing campaign against Ukrainian civilian infrastructure.
