Russian drone strikes Kyiv commuter lane, killing one and wounding six
A Russian drone hit traffic in Kyiv’s Holosiivskyi District, killing one person and injuring six, according to city officials.
In the early morning, a Russian drone struck a busy commuter route in Kyiv’s Holosiivskyi District, near a gas station on the Kyiv-Odesa highway, igniting multiple vehicles. The attack left at least one dead and six injured. The Kyiv Oblast Prosecutor’s Office has launched a pre-trial investigation into alleged breaches of war and customs law.
On the same morning, a Russian assault on a production and warehouse complex in Obukhiv killed two women and a man, with the fire later extinguished. Ukraine’s Air Force reported that Russia launched 165 Shahed-type and other drones that night, shooting down or suppressing 115 of them across 30 locations. The use of faster, jet-powered drones marks a shift from the propeller-driven models seen last winter, challenging Ukraine’s air defenses.
