Russian SU-30 fighter crashes during training over Kaliningrad, crew eject safely

A Russian SU-30 fighter jet fell in the Kaliningrad region while on a training flight, and the pilot escaped using an ejection seat with no injuries reported.

The aircraft, identified as a SU-30, went down during a routine exercise in Kaliningrad, a Russian exclave on the Baltic coast between Lithuania and Poland. The Ministry of Defence said the cause of the crash has not been disclosed. The crew survived by ejecting, and there were no casualties. Social media posts showing soldiers at a cemetery and a flame emerging from behind trees have been linked to the incident, though verification is lacking.

Why it matters
