Russian TV hosts discuss using nuclear weapons against the United Kingdom
On a Russian state broadcast, Vladimir Solovyov and Igor Markov debated striking the UK with nuclear weapons, even suggesting the destruction of a British city or naval base.
In a recent program on Russian state television, presenter Vladimir Solovyov invited pro-war commentator Igor Markov to consider extreme measures against the United Kingdom. Solovyov posed the question of which city should be erased, while Markov argued that a British military installation and its submarine fleet should be destroyed instead. The dialogue mentioned Russia's largest nuclear missile, Sarmat, the Poseidon underwater drone, and the still-testing Burevestnik missile, which carries its own reactor.
Markov portrayed Britain as a longstanding enemy and suggested that, if diplomatic appeals fail, a nuclear response would be required. The segment reflects Moscow's hostile stance toward the UK and its nuclear deterrent, which relies on four Vanguard-class submarines.
