Ryanair adds UK and German routes to Portugal as it expands European network
Ryanair will launch twice-weekly flights from Exeter and Bournemouth to Porto and restore service to Friedrichshafen, expanding its Portugal offerings for the next summer season.
The Irish carrier is introducing new connections from southwest England, with twice-weekly departures from Exeter and Bournemouth to Porto. It also brings back the route to Friedrichshafen in southern Germany. These additions complement a broader rollout of routes to Spain, Italy, Poland and Greece, all advertised with introductory fares. For the 2026-2027 winter schedule, Ryanair plans to operate about 395,000 flights offering roughly 76 million seats, keeping overall capacity steady while adjusting traffic targets to offset higher fuel costs.
Why it matters
The new routes increase travel options and competition, while the capacity plan shows Ryanair’s response to fuel cost pressures.
