Ryanair chief Michael O'Leary apologises for likening rival airlines to rapists

Michael O'Leary posted an online video apologising for describing rival carriers as “high‑fare rapists”, saying conversations with family and friends made him understand the upset it caused, especially among survivors of sexual violence. He pledged not to use the language again. The apology follows earlier denials of wrongdoing and criticism from the Dublin Rape Crisis Centre chief Rachel Morrogh and from politicians in Ireland and the United Kingdom, who said the comment trivialised a serious crime.
