Ryanair chief warns of modest fare hikes despite avoiding fuel surcharges
Ryanair's CEO said the airline will not add fuel surcharges, but expects ticket prices to rise slightly this winter as oil prices climb.
Ryanair's leader announced that the airline will continue to absorb fuel cost fluctuations without imposing separate surcharges, regardless of oil price movements. He warned that if crude climbs significantly, overall ticket prices are likely to rise, though any increase should be modest. The company has reduced certain winter flights, which could contribute to a slight fare uptick.
After a low-single-digit price decline between July and August, the airline expects prices to stay relatively flat later in the year. He referenced a 10% fare rise last year and projected a smaller increase of around 4-5% this year, but suggested the actual change may be lower. Overall, Ryanair aims to keep fares competitive while managing higher fuel costs internally.
