Ryanair flight forced to turn back to Porto after passenger says she is being pursued
A Ryanair Boeing 737 bound for Dublin returned to Porto when a 48-year-old Brazilian passenger handed crew a note claiming three people were chasing her.
Flight 7073 operated by Ryanair departed Porto for Dublin on a Boeing 737 when a 48-year-old Brazilian woman slipped a note to a cabin crew member, stating she was being followed by three people. The crew alerted the pilots, who chose to return to the runway and called on the Polícia de Segurança Pública for help. The aircraft landed back at Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport, where the passenger was taken off the plane, identified by police, and later allowed to board again.
The plane departed at 01:27 am and arrived in Dublin at 03:13 am without further issues. Police concluded the passenger’s claim could not be verified and no hijack protocol was triggered.
