Ryt Bank becomes Malaysia’s first digital bank to support Apple Pay
Ryt Bank announced that its Ryt Card can now be used with Apple Pay, joining Google Pay support launched earlier.
The Malaysian digital bank Ryt Bank added Apple Pay to its Ryt Card payment options, making it the first digital bank in the country to offer both Apple Pay and Google Pay. Customers can tap their compatible Apple devices to pay at merchants that accept the service. Each transaction must be verified with Face ID, Touch ID or a device passcode, and payment data is protected by a unique device account number and a transaction-specific security code. Adding the card to Apple Wallet is done through the Wallet app’s plus button.
Why it matters
It expands secure, contactless payment options for Malaysian consumers and marks a first for digital-only banks in the country.
