Saber and Unigine refute claims they swapped writers for AI in Rideshare Stimulator

Saber, together with developer Unigine, has denied accusations that it substituted its writing staff with ChatGPT for the upcoming Rideshare “Stimulator” title. CEO Matthew Karch told one outlet that the game’s story was crafted by human writers, with AI employed only in an experimental free-ride mode that requires infinite passenger interactions. Former lead writer Stella Sacco countered on Bluesky, claiming she was dismissed during development and that all passenger dialogue was generated by AI, a fact she says is not disclosed on the Steam page.
Karch emphasized the firm’s long-standing use of AI tools to enhance gameplay and affirmed that none of its 3,000+ employees are at risk of AI-driven replacement. Sacco responded, labeling the company’s remarks as contradictory and accusing Saber of misleading both staff and players about the role of AI in the game’s content.
