Sachin Tendulkar honors father on Teachers' Day with new medical fellowship

On Teachers' Day, Sachin Tendulkar paid tribute to his late father Ramesh and launched a fellowship for doctors specializing in cleft and craniofacial care.

Celebrating Teachers' Day, Sachin Tendulkar shared a heartfelt message about his father Ramesh Tendulkar, emphasizing the home-grown mentorship that shaped his character and cricket career. He recalled his father's advice to accept failure but never cheat, and highlighted the value of mentors in unlocking potential. In conjunction with the Inga Health Foundation, he unveiled the Professor Ramesh Tendulkar Memorial Fellowship, which will provide annual financial support to a medical doctor pursuing a year-long specialization in cleft and craniofacial care in Srinagar.

Fellows will receive a certificate from the Sachin Tendulkar Foundation upon completion. Tendulkar said the program embodies his father's belief that education should create opportunities to serve others. He also mentioned the foundation’s ongoing projects to broaden access to sports, healthcare and schooling across India.

The fellowship expands training for rare craniofacial surgery, addressing a critical health need in India while honoring a personal legacy.
