Sale Sharks honor late lock Hyron Andrews as team mourns on match day

Sale Sharks and director Alex Sanderson paid tribute to former lock Hyron Andrews, who died at a hotel in Johannesburg, before their Champions Cup game against Glasgow Warriors.

Former Junior Springbok lock Hyron Andrews died on Friday morning while staying at the Johannesburg Lions' hotel ahead of a Champions Cup fixture. Sale Sharks honored him with a minute’s silence before facing Glasgow Warriors, and director of rugby Alex Sanderson gave a moving tribute, highlighting Andrews' personality and his impact on the squad. During the live broadcast, presenter Claire Thomas hugged Sanderson as the club’s grief was evident among players and supporters.
