Salesforce sees Indian enterprises shifting from AI pilots to full deployments

During the Dreamforce 2026 conference, Salesforce officials noted that Indian businesses are transitioning from generative AI pilots to operational deployments across sectors such as financial services. The firm intends to grow its physical presence in Bangalore and invest in training and recruiting local talent. Salesforce will combine internal innovation with strategic acquisitions to enhance its AI offerings, citing past purchases of Fin and Informatica.

Rohan Kumar described a four-tier framework—Data 360, Customer 360, Agentforce and AIforce—to support an "agentic enterprise," emphasizing the need for robust security, cost control and monitoring as agent numbers rise. Arun Parameswaran observed that AI agents are already cutting processing times for tasks like vehicle-loan approvals, with companies likely to start with low-risk applications before expanding to higher-impact decisions. The executives also said AI will reshape job roles, creating new positions such as AI ethicists and prompt engineers while changing the traditional developer function.
