Samaiden subsidiary secures nearly 100MW solar plant contracts in Malaysia
Samaiden Group's wholly owned arm, Samaiden Sdn Bhd, signed contracts to build a 99.99 MW solar PV plant under the LSS5+ programme.
Samaiden Group Bhd’s subsidiary, Samaiden Sdn Bhd, has entered into contracts to develop a 99.99 MW alternating-current solar photovoltaic facility under Malaysia’s Large Scale Solar 5+ (LSS5+) scheme. The contracts were awarded by Syarikat Pembenaan Yeoh Tiong Lay Sdn Bhd and include full engineering, design, construction, testing, commissioning and the supply of solar components. The agreement, disclosed in a Bursa Malaysia filing on Oct 2, cannot reveal the contract value due to confidentiality clauses.
Work will start after the issuance of a formal notice to proceed, with YTLSB serving as the primary contractor. The project received Energy Commission approval in September 2025 and is expected to contribute positively to Samaiden’s future earnings.
Why it matters
The deal expands Malaysia's renewable energy capacity and may improve Samaiden's financial outlook.
