Samsung India's public affairs chief steps down after nearly four years

Rajiv Aggarwal, Samsung India's senior public affairs and ESG executive, announced his resignation after almost four years in the role, sources said. Aggarwal, a former Indian civil servant with prior experience at Uber and Meta, is serving his final week at the firm. Samsung Electronics declined to respond to inquiries about the move.

The resignation occurs amid ongoing tensions with the Indian government, which has urged major tech firms to pre-install state-run applications—a demand Samsung has resisted on privacy grounds. Samsung is also part of a legal challenge to a policy that raises payments to electronic-waste recyclers. The company currently commands roughly 16.2% of the Indian smartphone market, trailing Vivo and tied with Oppo.
