Samsung refreshes Galaxy Tab S line with upgraded Plus model and modest Ultra update

Samsung's latest tablet lineup, the Galaxy Tab S12 series, arrives with two distinct variants. The Plus model receives a comprehensive overhaul, offering a 12.6-inch OLED panel that is brighter and a bit larger than its predecessor, a slimmer and lighter body, the next-gen MediaTek Dimensity 9500 SoC, and a bigger 10,600 mAh battery, justifying a $1,199 launch price. In contrast, the Ultra version largely mirrors the prior year’s design, maintaining its 14.6-inch screen, 11,600 mAh battery and 5.1 mm thickness, while only updating the processor and adding four-channel spatial audio, now priced at $1,399.

Both devices share IP68 water-dust resistance, 1,600-nit peak OLED brightness, a seven-year Android update promise, and include an S Pen. Buyers also receive a limited-time Android release of Adobe Photoshop for Tablets, featuring AI tools and S Pen support. The tablets become available on October 7.
