Samsung SDS to acquire Woojung Air, expanding its air-freight capabilities at Incheon

Samsung SDS signed a deal to buy 100% of Woojung Air Consolidation, aiming to strengthen its cargo-consolidation services through Incheon Airport.

Samsung SDS announced a share purchase agreement to acquire all shares of Woojung Air Consolidation, a company that bundles smaller shipments and secures cargo space with airlines. The transaction, expected to be finalized before the end of the year, follows a 2022 partnership that integrated Woojung Air’s tracking and rate data into Samsung SDS’s Cello Square logistics platform. Woojung Air operates the iNomad digital freight marketplace and runs a logistics centre near Incheon Airport that handles cargo security screening and loading outside the terminals.

Combining iNomad with Cello Square should streamline air-freight operations, boost data-driven automation, and cut handling times and costs. The move is designed to enhance Samsung SDS’s ability to consolidate cargo from Korea and other Asian markets via Incheon, reinforcing the airport’s role as a regional logistics hub.

Why it matters

The deal expands Samsung SDS’s air-freight network, potentially lowering shipping costs and improving logistics efficiency in Asia.
