Samuel Etoo backs FIFA chief Gianni Infantino amid mounting criticism

Samuel Etoo, now president of the Cameroonian Football Federation, publicly endorsed FIFA President Gianni Infantino, asserting that the administrator has not committed any wrongdoing. Etoo suggested that the surge in criticism is linked to the upcoming FIFA presidential election and not to any actual misconduct. Although UEFA, the Asian Football Confederation and CONCACAF have expressed doubts about FIFA's direction, the Confederation of African Football recently reaffirmed its backing of Infantino, aligning with Etoo's stance. Meanwhile, a coalition of former internationals, including World Cup winners and other legends, urged a comprehensive overhaul of FIFA governance, warning that current leadership is blinded by power. Discussions about a potential no-confidence vote continue as the organization approaches the election cycle.
