San Bernardino man assaulted in jacuzzi, robbed of $1,000 iPhone
Greg Medina, 48, was kicked in the head while using a jacuzzi at Creekside Village apartments and lost his $1,000 iPhone to two young attackers.
Greg Medina, a 48-year-old chef employed by Lutheran Social Services, was relaxing in a jacuzzi at the Creekside Village apartments in San Bernardino when two young men approached him from behind, delivered a hard kick to the back of his head and stole his newly purchased iPhone, valued at $1,000. The attackers also took his AirPods and broke his glasses, laughing as they ran away. Video from the complex shows the assault, which resulted in a concussion and a diagnosis of post-concussion syndrome after Medina was taken to the emergency room.
He later located the stolen phone at a neighboring apartment complex and alerted San Bernardino police, who are pursuing felony charges for assault with a deadly weapon and robbery. Medina, who works early mornings preparing meals for homeless men and supports his 12-year-old daughter, warned that the violence could be directed at seniors or disabled individuals if left unchecked.
