Sanofi announces layoff of 229 Blueprint Medicines staff in Massachusetts
Sanofi will cut 229 jobs held by Blueprint Medicines employees in Massachusetts, with separations scheduled between early October and mid-2027.
The French drugmaker Sanofi filed paperwork with the Massachusetts Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development indicating a reduction of 229 positions. Those roles belong to Blueprint Medicines, the Cambridge biotech Sanofi purchased for $9.1 billion in July 2025. The workforce reductions will be carried out from October 9 onward, extending through the latter part of June 2027.
Why it matters
The cuts affect hundreds of workers and reflect post-acquisition restructuring at a large pharmaceutical firm.
