Sara Duterte welcomes ICC judges' view of Rodrigo Duterte's frail health

During a candid interview, Vice President Sara Duterte welcomed the fact that judges of the International Criminal Court's Trial Chamber III saw former President Rodrigo Duterte's advanced age at a recent status conference. She noted that the judges' awareness of his condition could influence discussions about his health. After the conference, the chamber unanimously decided to continue his detention, yet it postponed a decision on his fitness to stand trial, pending more definitive medical findings requested by the defense.

Duterte is accused of crimes against humanity for alleged killings committed while he was president and Davao City mayor. He is currently confined at the ICC Detention Centre in Scheveningen, The Hague, in the Netherlands. The case remains ongoing as legal and medical evaluations proceed.
