Saudi sovereign wealth fund pitches its portfolio to top U.S. investors in New York
The Public Investment Fund will meet major Wall Street firms in New York this week to introduce its assets and seek future financing.
The Public Investment Fund, Saudi Arabia’s nearly $1 trillion sovereign wealth fund chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman, is sending senior managers to New York to meet leading Wall Street firms. Accompanying them are executives from AI specialist HUMAIN, the King Abdullah Financial District and luxury hotel developer Red Sea Global. Over the course of the week they will engage with investors including Apollo, Blackstone, Brookfield, Carlyle, KKR, Stonepeak and the U.S. Export-Import Bank, with the sessions arranged by Lazard.
The purpose is to showcase the fund’s holdings and prepare the market for future debt or equity financing, rather than to secure funding for a single venture. The outreach reflects PIF’s push to lessen reliance on internal cash after slower-than-expected foreign direct investment, which fell short of its $100 billion target for 2030. Some of the fund’s high-profile projects, such as LIV Golf and NEOM, have been scaled back, while others like HUMAIN and Red Sea Global report progress and external financing.
Why it matters
The outreach signals Saudi Arabia’s effort to attract global capital and reduce dependence on state funding for its ambitious development plans.
