Scaffolding and screen structure collapse at George Lucas' Skywalker Ranch injures five

A scaffolding and LCD screen structure fell at Skywalker Ranch in Nicasio, Marin County, leaving five men hurt, one in serious condition.

During setup for a scheduled event at the Summit Skywalker Ranch in Nicasio, a scaffolding system supporting LCD display screens gave way, causing a partial collapse of the structure. Five male workers were injured; one suffered a severe head injury and was admitted to a hospital in very serious condition, while the others received treatment at nearby medical centers. Fire crews from Marin County, San Rafael and Novato responded, employing airbags to lift the fallen screens and free a trapped worker.

The incident is under investigation, with no cause yet identified. Skywalker Ranch, located north of San Francisco, houses Lucasfilm's renowned Skywalker Sound complex, which includes multiple mixing stages and a theater. The property’s management declined to comment on the accident.
