School Bus Driver Arrested After Alleged Sexual Assault of 3-Year-Old in Navi Mumbai

A private school bus serving a Navi Mumbai school dropped all children at their homes in Kamothe, leaving a three-year-old as the final passenger. The driver, a 30-year-old man, allegedly took advantage of the situation and sexually assaulted the child. The girl complained of abdominal pain at home and disclosed the incident to her grandmother, who alerted the school and then the police.
A medical check confirmed the assault, and authorities booked the driver under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act. Statements from school staff are being recorded as part of the investigation. The driver appeared before a Panvel court and was remanded in police custody until Saturday.
