Scottish duo charged with new gang offence after massive ketamine bust in Sydney

Police arrested 23-year-old Demi McDaid and her 30-year-old partner Jack Farrelly at a Sydney hotel after finding roughly 105 kg of ketamine hidden in a vehicle. The Edinburgh residents already face charges for supplying a prohibited drug and for doing so in a large commercial quantity. Following a recent appearance before Downing Centre Local Court, they have each been added a new count of participating in a criminal group contributing to criminal activity.

Investigators also confiscated two thousand Australian dollars, mobile phones and documents labelled as drug ledgers. Earlier searches uncovered two kilograms of ketamine, scales and other paraphernalia at a short-term rental in Artarmon. The Foreign Office said it is assisting the two British nationals and is in contact with Australian authorities.
