Seahawks sign Terrion Arnold as NFL prepares to place him on exempt list

The Seattle Seahawks announced the signing of Terrion Arnold, a 2024 first-round draft pick who was cut by the Detroit Lions earlier this summer. Arnold is currently charged with four counts of armed robbery and four counts of kidnapping stemming from a February incident in Largo, Florida, where prosecutors allege he was the primary conspirator. He surrendered to police on June 24 and has consistently denied involvement, with his manager Denise White asserting there is no credible evidence against him.

The NFL will place Arnold on the commissioner’s exempt list once the league receives his contract, keeping him on paid leave and barring him from practice or games. Coach Mike Macdonald explained that the team considered the input of those who have supported Arnold throughout the pre-draft process and felt the signing presented a worthwhile opportunity. The move allows the Seahawks to retain Arnold’s rights while the legal proceedings continue.
