Second-generation Dacia Spring unveiled, built on Renault Twingo platform
The new Dacia Spring electric car, now in its second generation, is based on the Renault Twingo but presented as a distinct model.
The first-generation Spring was assembled in China, extremely compact, and designed mainly for urban traffic, though its steering was described as imprecise. It nonetheless sold well in many markets, becoming a popular entry-level EV for buyers, many of whom had never owned an electric vehicle before.
Owners typically drove the car at an average speed of 34 km/h, covering roughly 34 kilometres each day across four separate journeys. The new version aims to retain the low-cost appeal while offering a more conventional driving experience.

The launch signals a low-cost EV option for city drivers, expanding affordable electric mobility.
