Second suspect arrested as investigation into Limoges town hall fire expands
Police have detained a 66-year-old man in Creuse for allegedly helping set the Limoges town hall ablaze, while the main suspect's detention was extended.
A 66-year-old man was arrested in the Creuse department on Thursday morning after a joint operation with the Bordeaux RAID unit, accused of taking part in the fire that severely damaged the Limoges town hall. The investigation also saw the extension of the detention of Hodei C.D., a 34-year-old who was originally charged with organized destruction of property using dangerous means. Prosecutors have now added a suspicion of attempted murder of a person holding public authority to his case.
The prosecutor, Émilie Abrantes, confirmed the new suspect's arrest and the updated charges against Hodei C.D. during a briefing. Further details are expected as the inquiry continues.
