Self-styled godman arrested in Tamil Nadu for filming and selling sexual abuse videos
Police detained Vijayaraja, a self-proclaimed occult practitioner in Vazhapadi, after he was accused of secretly recording and distributing sexual videos of women and girls.
Authorities in New Delhi announced the arrest of Vijayaraja, a 50-year-old who ran the 'Saneeswara' occult rituals centre in Vazhapadi, Tamil Nadu. Police allege he administered sedatives hidden in water or food, then used hidden cameras to record women and minor girls in compromising positions, later marketing the footage on dark-web platforms. The investigation began after a schoolgirl, approached for festival donations, escaped an attempted assault and alerted her family, leading villagers to confront the centre.
Vijayaraja locked the doors and fled, but was later apprehended by locals and handed over to Vazhapadi police. A seized laptop held more than 50 obscene videos, and his mobile and storage devices have also been confiscated as investigators probe possible wider networks.
