Senate hopeful Angie Nixon calls for jail time for opponent Ashley Moody

Democratic Senate candidate Angie Nixon said Republican Ashley Moody should be imprisoned for alleged misuse of Medicaid funds and other actions.

On one outlet’s “The Arena,” Democratic Senate contender Angie Nixon alleged that Republican Ashley Moody misappropriated $10 million from the state Medicaid program, redirecting it to two political slush funds supporting Ron DeSantis’s campaign against citizen initiatives. Nixon added that Moody voted to terminate health benefits for more than 440,000 Florida residents and has been running misleading advertisements claiming Nixon wants to abolish prisons and defund police.

When asked if she wanted her opponent jailed, Nixon affirmed, citing what she described as corruption involving a District Court of Appeal judge appointed by DeSantis. She said she would call for a federal probe once in the Senate, warning that children could die if the funds are not restored. Host Kasie Hunt pressed Nixon on the evidence, and Nixon pointed to the suppression of a grand-jury report as further proof of wrongdoing.
