SendCutSend secures $2.1 billion valuation as VC funding fuels U.S. metal manufacturing
Laser-cutting startup SendCutSend announced a new financing round that lifts its valuation to $2.1 billion, backed by Spark and other investors.
Jim Belosic launched SendCutSend in 2018 to turn digital designs into bespoke metal components, solving a niche in low-volume manufacturing. The Reno-based firm first attracted attention with a Series A round that placed its valuation at $1.1 billion, after Sequoia partner Andrew Reed visited the operation. A few months later, a new financing round led by Spark, alongside CRV, MHS, Sequoia and Paradigm, pushed the valuation to $2.1 billion.
The company now serves customers such as Zipline, Telo Trucks, Neros, Waymo, K2 Space, Relativity, Anduril and Castelion, and claims to work with 60 percent of the Fortune 500. Belosic says the capital will fund additional locations, faster lead times and job creation, positioning the firm as a building block for U.S. reindustrialization.
Why it matters
The funding enables a domestic manufacturer to scale custom metal production, creating jobs and reducing reliance on overseas suppliers.
