Senior Glasgow gang leader Steven Daniel taken into custody in early-morning raid

In an early-morning police action, Steven “Bonzo” Daniel, aged 46, was apprehended at his home in Robroyston, north Glasgow, as part of Operation Venetic’s effort against organised crime. The operation, coordinated with one outlet Scotland News, involved dozens of officers who briefed at a nearby station before moving in a convoy. After initial contact through a first-floor window, a police dog unit entered, and Daniel exited through the front door to be placed in a police van.

In a parallel sweep less than four miles away, 39-year-old Steven Gordon was also taken into custody in Garthamlock on charges of serious organised crime, firearms, drugs and conspiracy to murder. Assistant Chief Constable Dave Ferry emphasized that the chief constable’s directive is to bring those involved in serious criminality to justice, underscoring the ongoing commitment to protect Scottish communities. The Scottish component of Operation Venetic has already resulted in over 60 arrests since 2020 following a National Crime Agency infiltration of a criminal communications network.
