Senior NPA commander and three guerrillas killed in Agusan del Sur clash
A high-ranking New People’s Army leader and three fellow fighters were slain during a gunbattle with Philippine military forces in Barangay Bakingking, Esperanza, Agusan del Sur.
The clash in Barangay Bakingking resulted in the deaths of Julia Cagadas, known as “Rheda,” who served as secretary of the North Central Mindanao Regional Committee, and three other insurgents. The Philippine 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division confirmed the encounter. Maj. Gen. Marion T. Angcao, commander of the division, will hold a press briefing on Sunday at the 403rd Infantry Brigade headquarters in Malaybalay City, Bukidnon, to provide further details.
