September SSI benefits to be disbursed within the next ten days

Supplemental Security Income checks for September 2026, up to $994 per person, will be mailed out in about ten days.

The Social Security Administration confirmed that SSI disbursements for September 2026 will be sent to beneficiaries in roughly ten days, with maximum individual checks of $994. The aid targets people with limited earnings who are blind, aged 65 or older, or have other eligible disabilities. Payment levels differ: joint filers may receive as much as $1,491, while individuals providing essential care to SSI recipients can obtain up to $498.

To qualify, recipients must hold U.S. citizenship or a DHS-approved alien status, live in any of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, or the Northern Mariana Islands, and not be absent from the country for an entire calendar month.
