Serial butt-sniffer Calese Crowder arrested again after multiple store incidents

Glendale police were called to a business on Glenoaks Boulevard after a customer reported a suspicious individual crouching in the aisles and seemingly sniffing a woman’s rear. Minutes later, Marshalls on Brand Boulevard reported a comparable incident. Review of security video from both stores identified the suspect as 39-year-old Calese Crowder, a registered sex offender with a history of public butt-sniffing.

Officers located Crowder in the 100 block of South Brand Boulevard and arrested him for allegedly violating parole. The latest case adds to a pattern that includes arrests in August 2025 after a Burbank store incident and earlier complaints at the Empire Center and a Nordstrom Rack, where he was captured on video following a female shopper and later found at a nearby Walmart. Crowder is already serving a sentence after admitting a parole breach in September 2025 and will remain detained pending a hearing.
