Serian registers extremely unhealthy API of 258 as several Sarawak towns see poor air quality
Serian recorded an API of 258, classified as very unhealthy, while eight other locations in Sarawak posted unhealthy readings.
The latest data from the Malaysian Air Pollutant Index Management System shows Serian's API soaring to 258, which the system defines as very unhealthy. In addition, eight Sarawak districts—Sri Aman (197), Samarahan (195), Kuching (191), Bintulu (152), Sarikei (151), Samalaju (148), Mukah (118) and Sibu (108)—registered readings that are also classified as unhealthy. These figures were recorded at 9 am local time. Across the nation, several areas experienced moderate or good air quality, but the highlighted locations face heightened health concerns due to elevated pollutant levels.
