Settler raids on West Bank farms injure dozens, assault journalists and diplomats

The UN reports more than 200 Israeli settler attacks on Palestinian farmers since September, killing one, wounding over 120 and destroying thousands of olive trees, while journalists and foreign diplomats were also beaten.

UN deputy spokesperson Farhan Haq said OCHA logged over 200 settler assaults on farmers since Sept. 1, surpassing the total for the entire 2025 harvest. The violence has killed one Palestinian, injured more than 120 and felled over 2,500 trees. On Oct. 16, masked settlers beat a photographer at one outlet in Abu Falah, breaking ribs and stealing her equipment.

The next day, a delegation that included Belgium, French and Polish diplomats was attacked in Taybeh, with a Belgian vehicle window smashed and French mayor Bernard Baudoux kicked. The United States, France and the EU demanded accountability, while Israeli police launched “Operation Olive Leaf,” arresting ten suspects.
