Seven former Supo officials face charges over alleged intelligence misconduct

Prosecutors have filed criminal charges against seven former Supo officials for alleged misconduct during the agency's intelligence work. Among the accused are Antti Pelttari, a former head of Supo and ex-parliamentary secretary, and Pertti Haaksluoto, who previously led Supo's counter-intelligence unit. The indictment cites ten distinct violations, ranging from misuse of official position and neglect of duty to the unlawful revelation of classified security information.
The prosecutor's office also decided not to pursue charges against nine other individuals. All seven defendants have publicly rejected the allegations.
