Sexual assault: High Court to hear Anwar's preliminary questions in open court proceeding The Kuala Lumpur High Court will hear Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s preliminary questions raised in sexual assault suit filed by his former aide Yusoff Rawther against him. Judge Raja Ahmad Mohzanuddin Shah Raja Mohzan, in granting Anwar leave today, highlighted that Anwar’s questions coincide with the heart of Yusoff’s claims, which were his whereabouts on Oct 2, 2018.

Yusoff (above, right), in his statement of claim, said that he was at Anwar’s house and the assault happened on that date. However, Anwar, in refuting the claims, said he was at home with his daughter and received friends on the alleged day. “Having analysed the statement of claim, I find that the main issue in dispute between the parties lies in Section D, namely whether the alleged incident of Oct 2 happened at all.
