Sharjah Deputy Ruler inaugurates housing village, orphanage and upgraded clinic in Mindanao
Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi launched a 60-home village, a 50-child orphanage and reopened a renovated health clinic in Dinas, Mindanao.
Sharjah Deputy Ruler Sheikh Dr Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi visited Dinas in the southern Philippines to unveil three new humanitarian initiatives. He placed the cornerstone for Al Reeh Al Mursala Village, a planned community of 60 two-bedroom homes that will provide clean water from an artesian well and a vocational training centre to boost residents’ livelihoods. He also inaugurated Dar Al Rahma Orphanage, which will shelter 50 children and features classrooms, a computer laboratory, a mosque, and a sewing institute for mothers.
The visit coincided with the reopening of Dinas Health Clinic, now equipped with X-ray, ultrasound, neonatal care and other medical devices, expanding its capacity for general, dental, maternal and emergency care. All three projects are being implemented by Sharjah Charity International in partnership with the Sharjah Broadcasting Authority, financed through donor contributions and charity programmes broadcast on Sharjah TV and radio. Sheikh Sultan highlighted the UAE’s long-standing commitment to delivering integrated aid that combines shelter, education and health to foster stability and dignity for vulnerable communities.
Why it matters
The projects bring housing, education and health services to vulnerable families in Mindanao, improving living standards and stability.
