The innings featured significant partnerships, including a 97-run opening stand with Arjun Kumal and later contributions from Rohit Paudel and Gulsan Jha. The total surpassed Nepal’s previous best against the UAE and became their third-highest ODI score, setting the United Arab Emirates a target of 314 runs.
Sheikh’s century marked his second in ODIs, following a 110 against Papua New Guinea in 2023. The tournament winner secures a place in the 2027 Asia Cup, with Nepal defending the title they won in 2023.
