Shinhan Financial Group pushes Korea-Japan partnership in climate and digital finance
Shinhan Financial Group used a Seoul conference to promote closer cooperation with Japan on transition finance, carbon markets and digital assets.
Shinhan Financial Group participated in a conference in Seoul organized by Yonsei University’s Graduate School of Environmental Finance and the Korea Green Finance Forum, with sponsorship from the group itself. The gathering, held at the Korea Financial Investment Association in Yeouido, featured representatives from academia, financial regulators and the Asian Development Bank to discuss building reliable climate-finance systems across Asia.
Sessions addressed funding for low-carbon business transitions, innovation in digital finance and the development of digital asset markets. In a panel on climate and digital finance, Shinhan presented its transition-finance roadmap and highlighted compliance measures for digital assets. The group emphasized its intention to strengthen collaboration with Korean and Japanese authorities and institutions to pursue shared business ventures in sustainable and digital finance.
