ShinyHunters claims theft of FBI psychiatric and medical records
The hacker collective ShinyHunters says it accessed the FBIjobs.gov portal and extracted a large cache of internal files that include psychiatric assessments and medical records of FBI employees and applicants. The group alleges the stolen data amounts to between two and three terabytes and has shared a handful of files with journalists. Cybersecurity specialist Eric O’Neill warned that the exposure of health data could attract interest from hostile foreign intelligence services, likening the breach to the 2015 OPM incident. The FBI issued a statement that it is aggressively investigating the alleged compromise, but offered no further details.
