In the Asia Cup semi-final versus Bangladesh, Shree Charani claimed her 50th T20I wicket, becoming the fastest Indian to do so in just 29 matches. The wicket fell in the sixth over when she trapped Juairiya Ferdous, with Richa Ghosh completing the catch. This performance puts Charani level with New Zealand’s Leigh Kasperek and West Indies’ Anisa Mohammed as the joint-second quickest globally, behind China’s Mengting Liu. At 22 years and 37 days, she is the second-youngest Indian to reach the milestone, following Radha Yadav. India posted 149/6, propelled by Shafali Verma’s 64, and will now aim for the final.
